Library Services For Faculty: Circulation Desk

Check Out & Return

To check out books and other items, stop at the Circulation Desk on the library's 1st floor and the friendly library staff will be happy to assist you. Please bring your current ID card.

Library items may be returned at the Circulation Desk, in the book drop on the library's front porch, or in the book drop at the curb of the student parking lot on the west side of Rogers Student Center. All boxes are emptied daily.

Audiobooks & DVDs

Vaughn Library has a small collection of movies on DVD available for checkout.

DVDs placed in the library for classroom assignments are housed behind the Circulation Desk. During the Fall and Spring semesters, the student may check out all units for a particular course. All classroom assignment DVDs must be returned to the library by the last day of final exams. If the final exam is not taken at the scheduled time for whatever reason, the DVDs are still due the day of the last scheduled final exam.

Circulation Desk Activities

Faculty/Staff Checkout Policy - Faculty may check out up to twenty (20) non-reference materials for three (3) weeks, with an optional (1) week renewal. Reference books may be checked out for three (3) days. Please bring your current staff ID card. For more information, see the About the Library link below.

Library Reserves - If you have practice tests, a copy of an article, a book, etc., which you would like for your students to access, bring the item to the Circulation Desk on the library’s first floor. The staff will ask for the following: your name, the course name and number, how long you would like to leave it on reserve, and whether the student can check it out for a limited time, or whether it must stay in the library.

You can check to see what materials you have on reserve by going to the library webpage and clicking on the Library Catalog link. In the search box, type the course name and number for your class. (Example: ENGL 1302). Reserve materials fitting your search description will appear in the search results, and the column labeled Collection, will show them to be on reserve at the circulation desk. Links are provided for you below. If you have additional questions, please contact Madeleine Nittmo at x2308.

Textbooks -  While the library does not purchase the current textbooks, you may place a copy of your textbook on reserve. Textbooks placed on reserve are only made available for in-library use.

Instructional DVD's - We have a very limited amount of DVDs. Ask at the circulation desk for DVDs that accompany your class.
